PNY 4070 Ti Leak (Again) Confirms GPU Specs Match the Nvidia 4080 12GB

Over the last month, we’ve seen plenty of information all but confirming that the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, set to be announced next month, will effectively represent a rebrand of the cancelled (unlaunched) 4080 12GB. In other words, we already know what we’re getting (in theory), we are simply waiting on Nvidia to make their move, and, from a somewhat cynical standpoint, see if they are going to attempt to hide the fact that this 4070 Ti isn’t exactly ‘new’.

Will the 4070 Ti simply be a rebranded 4080 12GB, however? – Well, following a report via Videocardz, specifications from PNY’s upcoming 4070 Ti have appeared online, and, once again, it does seem to categorically confirm that this will indeed be a rebadged 4080 12GB.

Nvidia 4070 Ti = Nvidia 4080 12GB

With the full specifications of this PNY graphics card listed, it only takes a very minimal amount of detective work to see that these completely match those originally cited by Nvidia when the 4080 12GB was announced back in September. So, in other words, this again adds to the mountain of evidence that Nvidia has made literally zero changes to the SKU other than changing its name from 4080 to 4070 Ti.

Is this a bad thing though? Well, I think it’s more of a case of what else Nvidia could’ve done. – Consumer backlash ultimately led them to ‘unlaunch’ it, and with chipsets clearly already produced, they clearly had to do something with it. – Overall though, the price may ultimately end up being the biggest problem here.

MSRP to Stay the Same?

As this GPU has already been launched once, we already know that Nvidia, at least when it was a 4080, slapped an MSRP of $899 onto it. With it now effectively dropping down a tier, however, will they be keeping the same price tag? Hard to say, but I daresay it hasn’t escaped Nvidia’s attention that one of the biggest criticisms surrounding the 4080 16GB is that it’s just too comparatively overpriced when, for £200-£300 more, you can just get a 4090.

I sincerely hope that, for once, Team Green actually reads the crowd and maybe drops the 4070 Ti down to around $699. Particularly following the massive pressure placed by the AMD 7900 XT and 7900 XTX. – Will they do it though? Well, let’s just say I have my doubts!
