PS4 Games Available to Stream on PC with Playstation Now

Playstation Now

Playstation Now, the subscription-based gaming service (which allows you to stream and play a number of games) has just announced some new PS4 titles have been added to their service. Until recently, the service was restricted to the use of PS3 titles only however, Sony has now announced the inclusion of 20 new PS4 games. Given the PC streaming service the program offers, this technically means that for the first time ever, you can play PS4 games on a PC.

This is something in which we recently reported quite the opposite. Rainway was allowing for PC games to be played on Consoles and in general, it would seem that the lines between console and PC have gotten a little blurred these last few months.

With Playstation Now, you, of course, are not really playing the game on your PC. It’s merely the source of the streaming, but then it’s about as close as you will ever get to this. Well, maybe, unless you consider something like RPCs3 or Cemu. The inclusion of these PS4 games to their list does make the subscription service a little more tempting.

What games have they added?

The list as reported by NextPowerUp is as follows:

  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • God of War 3 Remastered
  • Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
  • WWE 2K16
  • Tropico 5
  • Ultra Street Fighter IV
  • F1 2015
  • Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition
  • Evolve
  • MX vs ATV Supercross Encore
  • Resogun
  • Helldivers
  • Broken Age
  • Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition
  • Grim Fandango Remastered
  • Akiba’s Beat
  • Castlestorm Definitive Edition
  • Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky
  • Nidhogg
  • Super Mega Baseball

Wow, that’s… alright

Now, I’m going to be honest here. This Playstation Now service seems to be suffering from a problem. A problem that these subscription services always do, Out-dated games.

Out of that list, there are some great titles, but unfortunately, nothing that isn’t 2-3 years ago.

Considering this is their first major plug into PS4 on the subscription service, I would have hoped to see something with a bit more razzle-dazzle.

With Playstation Now at £12.99 a month, I simply fail to see what real value you are getting from this. Until these subscription services start offering impressive deals or slightly relevant titles, I don’t think Playstation Now is worth it.

You just hate Playstation!

Just to be clear, I’m not solely picking on Playstation Now here. The Xbox service which launched earlier this year is also disappointing as far as I’m concerned when it comes to relevant titles and pricing.

Don’t get me wrong, it will be awesome to access PS4 games on a PC, but I doubt the vast majority of us would want access to these games. Particularly given that the better ones on the list are already available on Steam.

I am pleased that they have introduced PS4 games to the service. I really am! They simply just have to improve the relevance of the titles they are bringing over. At present, I just don’t think it’s worth it.
