The current generation of consoles still can’t match high-end gaming PCs in terms of graphical quality, but console developers can still make some epic looking games. Enter the latest PS4 title Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture which is being developed by The Chinese Room. You may also be familiar with those developers from their previous title Dear Esther. The game is being developed in partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica Studio and is powered by Crytek’s CryEngine. Every week for the past 4 weeks the developers have been sharing a picture on their Twitter feed. As you can see from the pictures above it is a great looking title fully utilising the capabilities of the PS4 and Crytek’s CryEngine.
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture takes place in a quiet village of Shropshire during the apocalypse. The game tells the stories of six characters each with a different version of events. These “individual stories” will be connected to others by certain game landmarks. The game is set for a release some time in 2015 and is one off the most anticipated independent titles of Sony’s latest console.
