PS5 Exclusive Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet May Not Launch Before 2027
According to new reports, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the upcoming PS5 exclusive from Naughty Dog, might not be released before 2027.
The information comes from Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, who stated on Reddit: “I can assure you that Intergalactic is not coming out in 2026.”
This comment was made in response to a post that misinterpreted statements from Colin Moriarty as confirmations suggesting the game was already in an advanced stage of development and could make a grand return at The Game Awards 2025, scheduled for December 11.
No Trailer Expected at The Game Awards
Alongside Schreier, Jeff Grubb, insider and journalist at Giant Bomb, also commented on the matter, tempering fans’ expectations. According to Grubb, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet “will not be shown at The Game Awards.”
While both Schreier and Grubb are well-known and reliable sources—especially Schreier, who is recognized for his strong connections within the industry—the information should still be taken with caution.
Sony’s Position and Possible Release Window
Earlier this summer, Sony confirmed that Naughty Dog’s new title will not launch within the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2026. However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of a release sometime later in 2026.
For now, fans will have to wait for official updates from the Japanese company regarding the future of this highly anticipated PS5 exclusive.
