QNAP Reveal All-Flash 12-Bay TS-h1277AFX NAS Powered By Ryzen 7 9000
Take your NAS setups pretty seriously? If not, then this most certainly isn’t for you. The all-new TS-h1277AFX is pretty extreme, and while QNAP didn’t reveal its price, I think it would be safe to say it’ll cost somewhere between “a lot” and “a heck of a lot more”. Not only that, but populating a NAS with large format HDDs can be pretty darn expensive, but this NAS is an all-flash design, built for ultra-fast SSDs, which can cost even more.
QNAP revealed a few details of the TS-h1277AFX, which features an impressive 12-bay tower design, supporting all-flash drives, which is great in terms of both speeds, but also noise levels. Anyone that’s used a NAS with a lot of HDD will know they can get quite noisy.
What’s crazy is that this thing can be upgraded to support 25GbE networking via an expansion card, which is way beyond the limited 10GbE setup I have here at home, but wow, would we love one of these in the office! Especially so since it supports up to 184TB of storage, incredible!
TS-h1277AFX Key Features
- Powerful Performance to Drive Critical Business Operations
- Powered by AMD Ryzen 7 9000 Series (8-core) processors, the TS-h1277AFX supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and includes a built-in GPU, making it ideal for demanding tasks like multimedia, real-time video editing, and VFX processing.
- Immutable Storage for Enhanced Data Security
- Driven by QuTS hero, the TS-h1277AFX integrates ZFS self-healing, data deduplication, RAID redundancy, and SSD optimization for enterprise-grade data protection and performance, reducing hardware failure risks while maximizing SSD efficiency and lifespan to maximize your all-flash investment.
- Fast Networking with 25GbE Options
- Featuring two 2.5GbE and two 10GBASE-T ports, the TS-h1277AFX can be upgraded to 25GbE to accommodate high-speed data transfers. When paired with QNAP’s multi-port high-speed switches, It provides seamless multi-user collaboration and efficient file sharing.
- Flexible Expansion to Meet Growing Needs
- The TS-h1277AFX comes with three PCIe Gen 4 expansion slots, allowing users to add options for high-speed networking, JBOD storage expansions, or M.2 SSD upgrades, making it highly adaptable to changing performance and storage needs.
- Accelerated Data Import/Export and Video Display
- The TS-h1277AFX includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with 10 Gbps transfer speeds for rapid SSD data transfers, streamlining media backup and restoration. It also features a 4K HDMI output for direct content display on monitors, simplifying local operations and video presentations.
All this speed needs a serious CPU to keep pace, and you’ll find the fantastic AMD Ryzen 7 9000 Series at its heart. For larger work environments, such as having multiple video editors on large scale projects, I’m sure this thing is a bit of a beast.
