QNAP Partners with Golden Frog for VyprVPN Support

Security is an ever growing concern for people and a VPN service is a great way to add another layer of security. QNAP has now entered a partnership with VyprVPN to give their users more choices in that regards and a new app has been made available in the Beta section of QTS App Center.

QNAP users can now directly connect to VyprVPN using their QNAP NAS and select from three protocols to encrypt their Internet connection: PPTP, OpenVPN-256, and OpenVPN-160. VyprVPN for QNAP provides users with increased security and privacy, and isn’t that something we all like. QNAP is also the first NAS provider to offer an integrated VPN service to users.

“Golden Frog works hard to build an ecosystem that extends across platforms and devices, and to make strong privacy and security solutions available to all types of users,” said Liz Kintzele, VP of Sales at Golden Frog. “QNAP is a leader in network-attached storage devices, which is why we are so excited to be working with them and to offer QNAP users enhanced security through VyprVPN.”

“We selected VyprVPN due to their network performance and speed. Golden Frog has greatly invested in their backend infrastructure, and is the only personal VPN provider that manages their entire infrastructure without third parties,” said Y.T. Lee, Vice President of QNAP.

The new VyprVPN beta app is now available for all QNAP x86-based models and users can install it from the Beta Lab in the QTS App Center. It also requires QTS 4.2.2 or newer, but users should upgrade to the newest version here anyway when it becomes available. For more information on VyprVPN itself, you can also visit the official website and read up on their offered services.
