QNAP Reveal TVS-473 4-Bay 4K Capable NAS at CES 2017

dsc_0333

While not entirely new to the world, QNAP were eager to show off their rather lovely TVS-473 4-Bay NAS at CES 2017. This gold finished powerhouse of a NAS is great for the pro home user, and even for SMB use. It comes equipped with an integrated Radeon R7 GPU from its AMD Rx-421BD Quad-Core 2.1GHz processor, although it can run up to 3.4GHz as needed. Combined, this gives the TVS-473 powerful 4K video processing, and snappy response times that allow it to be used as a comprehensive media centre system, for video decoding and encoding, editing, sharing and much more.

It comes with 4 x LAN, add-on 10GbE, 4 x USB 3. and 2 x USB 3.1 ports, M.2 SSD cache, 8GB DDR4 memory, and room for 4 x 3.5″ or 2.5″ HDD/SSDs. It’s not cheap at a little over £1200, but given the range of features on offer and the fast video processing, it’s certainly good value for money.
