QNAP has announced the launch of its new 6-bay TVS-675 NAS powered by the x86 Zhaoxin KaiXian KX-U6580 8-core 2.5 GHz processor. Featuring dual-port 2.5 GbE connectivity, dual M.2 SSD slots for cache acceleration, PCIe expansion, multi-cloud backup, 4K HDMI 2.0 output, expandable storage capacity, and install-on-demand apps, the TVS-675 provides modern businesses with a cost-effective 2.5 GbE NAS solution.

QNAP TVS-675 2.5GbE NAS

The QNAP TVS-675 has 8 GB DDR4 memory (expandable up to 64 GB – 2x 32 GB) and supports AES-NI encryption acceleration. The built-in dual 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports can deliver up to 5 Gbps potential under Port Trunking, satisfying bandwidth-hungry applications such as large file transfers, fast backup/restoration, and multimedia transfer & editing. To attain optimal I/O and reduced latency, users can configure SSD caching by using the two built-in M.2 2280 SSDs slots (supports PCIe NVMe Gen 3 SSDs or SATA 6 Gb/s SSDs, sold separately) without occupying disk drive bays. By utilizing QNAP’s Qtier technology the TVS-675 NAS can benefit from auto-optimized tiered storage to achieve optimal performance while also balancing storage utilization.

The TVS-675 provides two PCIe Gen 3 x4 slots that allow the installation of expansion cards to enhance NAS functionality (such as a 2.5 GbE/5 GbE/10 GbE network card, or a QM2 network/storage card). The HDMI 2.0 output allows for directly displaying NAS multimedia and virtual machines on a monitor or TV. The TVS-675 meets business storage demands for security, file sharing, central management, local/remote/cloud backup, and snapshot protection to facilitate daily tasks with greater productivity. The built-in App Center increases NAS application potential, such as hosting multiple virtual machines and containers, deploying a cloud storage gateway, building a professional video surveillance system, backing up S3 object cold data, and more.

TVS-675 NAS users can switch the operating system from QTS to QuTS hero – QNAP’s ZFS-based NAS operating system that provides end-to-end data integrity, data reduction (inline data deduplication, compression, and compaction), and more features for users that need to prioritize data reliability over performance.
