Rainbow Six Siege Hacked Again, Players Report 67-Day Bans and Server Outages
Despite being one of Ubisoft’s longest-running successes, Rainbow Six Siege has once again fallen victim to a cyberattack. The new hack has caused players to be banned for 67 days — a number apparently chosen by the hackers as a reference to the “6-7” meme.
Ubisoft Faces a New Security Problem
Social media has been flooded with complaints from players and content creators who have been unfairly banned due to the hack. Many report being expelled from the game under false accusations of harassment, leaving them unable to access their accounts.
The game’s status page confirms major issues across all platforms. Server connectivity is marked as “degraded,” while authentication, matchmaking, and the in-game store are all listed as “outage.” Ubisoft has only stated that “some issues are being investigated” and thanked players for their patience.
An account known as vx-underground shared evidence of the situation on X (formerly Twitter), showing screenshots of the mass bans and referencing the meme tied to the number 67.
This isn’t an isolated case. Ubisoft has been facing multiple cybersecurity issues since December 27. Previous attacks caused abnormal credit distributions and mass bans without reason. These incidents forced Ubisoft to temporarily shut down servers in an attempt to fix the damage — though by then, the harm was already done.
