Razer Electra Headset Review

So there we have it, a head set that not only looks fantastic with its extreme green and black finish, angular design and what is over all a very stylish appearance, a big win on looks for the Razer Electra, although with its in your face styling I agree it might not be to everyone’s tastes.

The build quality is pretty much best in class too, all the materials feel of a high quality, there are no bad joins, seams, bits of glue, cheap stitching on show anywhere, I expect these headphone will take some pretty serious knocks before anything starts to go wrong with them.

Given how heavy and bulky these headphones look, they’re actually rather ergonomic, they don’t look or feel over sized when your wearing them and are a lot lighter than they look, even thought they don’t put a lot of presure on your ears, they stay firmly in place while your out and about and they feel well balanced on your head.

Anyone who loves listening to music or gaming while on the go will love these headphones, but as much as they are for mobile devices they are just as good, if not better in my opinion for plugging into your sound system at home, kicking back and listening to your faviourite album, with a sound quality that is not unlike that of headphones that cost more than twice the price.

Given that a lot of products claim to be the best at what they do, its refreshing to see a company put out products like this that not only say they want have a vision of being the world’s greatest gaming brand, but have clearly made the effort to make sure that vision comes true, making sure that build quality, design and performance are the best they can be, which is a lot to ask for in a product that only costs around £60.

Its for all these reasons that I am giving the Razer Electra’s our Editors Choice award, they deserve a nod from our Bang For Buck award too, but given their all out performance, they more than earn our highest honour.

As Razer said them selves “Our vision from the very beginning was to be the world’s greatest gaming brand and we’ve set out to achieve that by designing the best gaming products that any gamer has ever seen”, I think they have done exactly that.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
