Razer Viper 8K Ambidextrous eSports Gaming Mouse Review

Razer is one of the leading brands when it comes to high-end gaming peripherals. They’ve got a huge fan base and a strong eSports following. Today, I’ll be checking out their new gaming mouse that looks to please the enthusiast PC gamers at home but still deliver on technologies that will help eSports champions take home some prizes. The Viper 8K is the latest and greatest evolution of one of their most popular products, so it should be something pretty special.

Razer Viper 8K Ambidextrous eSports Gaming Mouse

Looking at the features, it’s by far one of the best-equipped and highest specification gaming mice I’ve ever seen. It has an incredible 8000 Hz polling rate, which can drastically reduce input delay, and it’s also where we get the name “Viper 8K”. In addition, the Focus+ Optical Sensor can deliver true 20,000 DPI tracking… Wow, that’s a LOT of DPI! However, what’s really impressive is that it’ll track accurately at 650 inches per second and with 50G acceleration; that’s ridiculous; nobody can move that fast! Throw in PTFE feet, Chroma RGB customisation, 8 programmable buttons, and a lightweight design, and you’re well on your way to one of the best gaming mice ever. Now, let’s find out if what’s on paper works out well in the real world!

What Razer Had to Say

“Latency is a very important part of gameplay that significantly affects the overall gaming experience – and yet, it is overlooked by many companies that focused for too long on increasing DPI. Unlike DPI, lower latency benefits everyone from casual to professional players by shaving off important milliseconds from the overall reaction time,” said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer’s peripherals business unit. “During our testing and development process with a large pool of competitive players and mouse enthusiasts, many reported significantly smoother and more responsive input when using the HyperPolling Technology featured in the new Viper 8KHz esports gaming mouse.” – Razer
