Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake Could Be Announced Next Year, Followed by Resident Evil 0
The well-known insider AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, has shared some updates about the rumored remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
According to his information, the announcement could arrive next year, meaning sometime in 2026, with the release expected in 2027.
After that, the remake of Resident Evil 0 is expected to launch, possibly in 2028. However, these details have not been confirmed by Capcom, so they should be taken with caution.
Development and Announcement Plans
Dusk Golem explained that the situation is not yet finalized and could still change. He mentioned that Capcom would likely make any official announcements after the release of Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to launch on February 27, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
He also revealed that Claire Redfield will be treated as the main character in the Code: Veronica remake. However, Chris Redfield will still play an important role.
“Capcom realizes this is “RE Engine Remake Deput”, but it’s still very much Claire’s game,” Dusk Golem stated.
What to Expect from the Remake
The insider added that Capcom’s approach to the Code Veronica Remake is to build upon the original foundation while improving various aspects.
It’s not yet clear what this means for gameplay changes or design updates, but fans are hoping for a faithful yet modernized remake.
As of now, nothing has been officially confirmed, so all these details should be considered unverified rumors until Capcom makes an announcement.
