Resident Evil Requiem Becomes the Most Played Game in the Series on Steam and Is Almost Sold Out Physically
Capcom has made history with the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, which has already become the most played game in the series on Steam in less than 24 hours, surpassing Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village.
The game has reached a peak of 267,509 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB, not counting players on PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox. Right now, more than 240,000 users are playing it on Valve’s platform. For comparison, Resident Evil 4 Remake previously held the record with 168,191 concurrent players. Requiem exceeds that by around 100,000 players.
Record-Breaking Launch on Steam
It also outperforms Resident Evil 7 (20,449 players), Resident Evil Village (106,631), Resident Evil 2 Remake (74,227), and Resident Evil 3 Remake (60,293). In addition, it has entered the top 10 most popular single-player games of all time on Steam, ranking tenth.
In physical format, the game is almost sold out across many retailers. Only a few editions remain available, while most versions — including special and deluxe editions — are currently out of stock. Major international stores are also waiting for new shipments.
Resident Evil Requiem is available on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
In other news, Resident Evil Requiem could receive a story DLC starring Alyssa Ashcroft.
