Resident Evil Village May Have Lost PS5 Pro Support After Latest Update
According to reports from several users online, Capcom has released an update for Resident Evil Village that appears to have unintentionally disabled PS5 Pro support. The situation was quickly noticed by players after installing the patch.
Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 received an update on February 2. As usual, updates are welcome, especially when they add new language support. In this case, the patch introduced Latin American Spanish and Polish subtitles.
Unfortunately, players also discovered an unexpected issue: Resident Evil Village no longer supports PS5 Pro features after the update.
Resident Evil Village Appears To Have Lost PS5 Pro Support
User reports confirm that, following the update, 120 Hz mode is no longer available when playing Resident Evil Village on PS5 Pro, even when using a compatible TV. This change was clearly not well received, and several players contacted Capcom to ask for clarification.
The loss of high frame rate support is especially noticeable for users who upgraded specifically to take advantage of PS5 Pro features.
So far, the only response comes from Capcom USA Customer Support, which shared the following statement:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting CAPCOM USA Customer Support.
We understand your concerns regarding the missing high framerate mode on PS5 Pro in Resident Evil Village.
We’ve forwarded your report to the appropriate department for further investigation. Please note that we’re unable to provide follow-up information or updates regarding this issue, but your feedback has been noted and shared.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know and for your understanding.
Best Regards,
CAPCOM USA Customer Support
At the moment, the only certainty is that Capcom is aware of the problem, but there is no guarantee it will be fixed soon. While waiting for further updates, players are also dealing with another recent issue: the new DRM added to Resident Evil 4 has reportedly caused performance problems on PC, leading many to miss the days of Denuvo.
