Retailer Lists Nvidia 3050 Potentially Confirming its ACTUAL Market Price!

Officially speaking, Nvidia has already confirmed that its upcoming GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card will hit the market at a cost ‘starting at’ £229/$249. As we have unfortunately learned over the last 18-months, however, when it comes to GPU MSRP’s, they, unfortunately (or at least largely), have meant absolutely nothing. With this in mind, therefore, one of the biggest factors of curiosity was exactly how much the 3050 was going to cost in the real world. You know, when it lands with online retailers.

Well, following a report via Videocardz, we might just have an answer to that question and although it seems to be priced entirely as we expected, we daresay that some of you may still find the news more than a little disappointing!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050

Now, this one is admittedly a little complicated and convoluted. The main key reason for this is that the retail listing spotted, giving us our first notable indication of the 3050’s price, has come from a Peruvian retailer. Now, given that this is a market I have practically no knowledge in, I can’t say for certain whether the cost indicated here will be presentative of what we see here in the ‘West’. It gets even more knotty when you discover that the Palit 3050 graphics card being touted here is part of a bundle including some memory.

Given that the modules are available to purchase separately from the exact same retailer, however, and for a US dollar cost that does seem to correlate to ‘Western’ markets, it does appear that the true market value of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 will actually be closer to $425. In other words, nearly twice as much as it’s supposed ‘starting at’ cost.

What Do We Think?

Let’s be honest, although clearly pending a lot of confirmation from more traditional retail sources, if the Nvidia 3050 does hit the market for something around the $400 mark, we can’t say that we’ll be overly shocked nor surprised. This is, unfortunately, the continuing state of the graphics cards market at the moment. – The only mildly interesting factor is that this indicated price may still put the 3050 in an exceptionally solid setting. Yes, a stretch for sure, but given that this figure is about on par with the notably weaker (pending official benchmarks) AMD Radeon 6500 XT, for entry-level solutions, although the Nvidia 3050 will not be cheap at $400, it could still easily represent the much better choice for budget-focused consumers.

With the official review embargo lifting on the 26th, however, rest assured that we’ll be ready to put this graphics card through its paces and see, for certain, exactly where the land lies.
