Retailer Lists AMD Ryzen 7000 Non-X CPUs All But Confirming CES 2023 Launch!

CES 2023 is certainly shaping up to be an exceptionally busy event in the tech world. Intel is rumoured to be launching all of its remaining Raptor Lake processors. Nvidia is likely to unveil (again) its much-maligned 4070 Ti (the GPU formerly known as the 4080 12GB). And as for AMD, while the prospect of more Radeon 7000 GPUs seems a little unlikely, there is still the matter of their many more Ryzen 7000 processors to come!

And in this regard, it seems that following a report via Videocardz, AMD may be well set at CES 2023 to announce the launch of their next batch of Ryzen 7000 CPUs with a predominantly focus apparently being placed on their non-X counterparts.

AMD to Launch Ryzen 7000 Non-X CPUs at CES 2023?

The information comes as a retailer has started listing placeholders for the upcoming Ryzen 7700 and 7900 processors. – In terms of the details, while the information is somewhat light, it appears that both CPUs will retain the same core/thread count as their X counterparts while offering notably lower clock speeds and, by proxy, likely a much lower TDP of around 65W. And this does really sum up the non-X series as they have nearly always offered just slightly lower comparative performance to the main designs while offering a significantly lower power consumption and typically easier-to-manage cooling requirements too.

Given the fact that placeholders have gone live, however, this would typically suggest that the retailer is expecting their stock to start arriving within the next 2-4 weeks which makes the CES 2023 announcement (January 5th – January 8th) pretty much a lock for the Ryzen 7000 non-X processors.

Given that many of their X counterparts have been receiving some pretty huge discounts over the last couple of weeks, however, it will be interesting to see what MSRPs AMD throws up for these models.
