Roccat Ryos MK Pro Cherry MX Red Mechanical Keyboard Review

The Ryos MK Pro comes with a thick braided cable that splits just a few inches short of the connectors into dual USB cables and HD audio connection cables. One USB is for the keyboard, while the other is used to power two USB 2.0 ports on the back of the keyboard, the audio pass through cables allow you to plug your headset and microphone directly into the back of the keyboard.

Overall design is pretty big, an oversized chassis provides a large and stable base for the keyboard, but also acts as a fixed wrist rest.

A mixtures of smooth and lightly textured surfaces are broken up by a strip of glossy plastic and the Roccat logo that add a nice accent to the wrist rest.

Set into the wrist rest we have three Thumbster keys, these are perfect for extra macros, commands or switching through keyboard profiles.

Down the left side we have the dedicated M keys that are fully customisable with shortcuts, macros and similar commands.

The keyboard is relatively low profile given its size, and you’ll notice a nice slow curve to the rows of keys that should provide a comfortable typing position.

Here we can see a set of audio jacks, perfect for hooking up a chat or gaming headset, however the pink and green colours are a little cheap looking.

Around the back we have a single cable in the centre.

The back right corner features a pair of USB 2.0 ports.

The underside features four large slip mats, a couple of channels for routing cables under the keyboard and two plastic flip-up feet.

The feet are plastic, but they do feel a little bulkier than most.

The rich blue LED back lighting looks stunning and is fully configurable in terms of which keys are lit, brightness, delay, timers and more.

There are several lighting configurations pre-set, but you can easily configure your own from the downloadable software.

Under those lovely key caps we see the Cherry MX red switches and their respective blue LED lights.
