Roccat Savu Mid-Size Hybrid Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Roccat have a really strong product here, it is packed full of so many features on a hardware level and this is expanded upon heavily by the best firmware / software in the business (in my opinion). Everything is super easy to setup, configure and navigate, well enough to allow both beginners and pros to find the best settings for each of their games as quickly as possible, so you spend more time playing, less time tweaking.

The design is awesome and the black finish reminds me of a stealth fighter jet or the bat mobile, it’s dark and dangerous looking. The LED lighting is a little limited by only being at the back, but the subtle under-glow it provides is rather cool without being too distracting, of course you could always turn it off if you wish. The textured finish might not be to everyone’s liking and while it does provide a strong grip the real benefit will be seen by those who suffer from sweaty hands while gaming.

The only draw back I have of this mouse is the size, I like a full size mouse overall and the mid-size doesn’t suit my large hands too well. This is of course a matter of preference and the Savu is a perfectly average size mouse with some really nice and supportive ergonomics that should suit the majority of gamers / PC users.

The second best thing on this mouse is the sensor, the accuracy is truly epic and it is on par with what we have come to expect from Roccat over the years. The only thing that makes it even better is the number one thing I like about this mouse, the price! At around £45 it is very competitively priced to the point where this is the best mouse I’ve tested in this price range.

Pros

  • The build quality and finish feel great, look great and the mouse doesn’t feel like it will break after a heavy gaming session.
  • The price is incredible given the quality of the sensor and the extensive feature set
  • There is plenty of grip for those who suffer from sweaty hands while gaming

Cons

  • There was a lot to love about the Savu, the only minor issue I had with it is that I prefer a larger mouse, maybe if Roccat are reading this they will make a full size edition?

“This mouse really does tick all the boxes, it has great build quality and features, while keeping the price under £50. It’s a force to be reckoned with and should prove good competition for already fiercely competitive gaming mouse market.
