In a statement (thanks Insider Gaming), one of the mod’s creators explained, “Due to the unexpected attention that our project received and after speaking with Rockstar Games, we have decided to take down the Liberty City Preservation project.” They added, “We appreciate all the support the project has received, and we look forward to continuing to pursue our passion for modding the Grand Theft Auto series.” The announcement, shared via Discord, did not provide further details about the decision.
Rumors of a GTA IV Remaster
Speculation has arisen regarding the cancellation, with some fans theorizing that Rockstar’s intervention might be connected to a potential remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV.
