Rockstar North Resumes Normal Work After Office Incident, GTA 6 Development Unaffected
Rockstar’s studio in Edinburgh, known as Rockstar North and currently working on Grand Theft Auto 6, has returned to normal operations following an incident at its offices. The situation involved a malfunctioning boiler that required emergency services to intervene, but it did not cause injuries or disrupt ongoing development.
The incident happened early in the morning, before staff arrived at work. Because of this, no employees were affected, and the building was safely secured shortly after.
Quick Response and No Impact on Development
A representative from Rockstar North confirmed that the problem was caused by a fault in one of the building’s boilers. Police and firefighters were called in to assess the situation and ensure everything was safe. The studio thanked the emergency teams for their fast response and reassured the public that everyone was fine.
According to the statement, the office remained open and fully operational after the checks were completed. This helped ease concerns about a possible delay to GTA 6 linked to the incident.
Grand Theft Auto 6 remains one of the most important releases in the video game industry. The game is currently scheduled to launch in November on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Given its huge impact, many publishers are carefully planning their own release dates around Rockstar’s title.
The game has already faced schedule changes in the past, having previously been planned for May and earlier windows. However, this recent office incident does not affect the development timeline.
In other news, high-ranking Russian officials and religious figures called for a ban on GTA 6 ahead of its release.
