RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition Sell Out in Minutes on NVIDIA Store
On January 31, 2026, NVIDIA made the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition available again on its official European store. The listed prices were €2,099 for the RTX 5090 and €1,059 for the RTX 5080. However, stock was extremely limited.
The RTX 5090 sold out in just seven minutes, while the RTX 5080 also disappeared shortly after going live, leaving many buyers empty-handed.
Frustration Among PC Gamers
Thousands of users were waiting for this restock, the first in over a month, hoping to buy these graphics cards at official prices and avoid the very high costs seen on the secondary market. Instead, the speed at which the cards sold out caused strong frustration and criticism, as the available stock was very small.
On forums and social media, many buyers said the purchasing process was almost impossible for most users. This has once again fueled speculation that scalpers and resellers managed to grab a large part of the available GPUs.
The lack of GPUs is not a new issue. Since the RTX 30 series, NVIDIA launches have been marked by demand that clearly exceeds supply. This situation has consistently helped scalpers resell cards at inflated prices, especially in the high-end segment.
The extremely fast sell-out of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition confirms that buying these graphics cards at official prices is still very difficult. While NVIDIA continues to work on maintaining stock, users must deal with a market where competition is intense and availability remains very low.
