Rumor: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Will Outperform NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti by 15%

According to rumors, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 Series is expected to launch in the first quarter of the year, though an official release date has not been confirmed. The delay could be due to various reasons, including price adjustments to make the cards more competitive with NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Series or performance optimizations to support FSR 4. Despite this, rumors suggest that AMD’s upcoming graphics cards will outperform NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 in gaming performance.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Performance Compared to RTX 5070 Ti
Moore’s Law is Dead reports that the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT will be about 3% faster than the RTX 4080, positioning it roughly 15% ahead of the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, which is expected to launch soon. The Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) is also expected to surpass the RTX 5070 by up to 12% in performance.
However, this performance advantage does not include ray tracing, where AMD is still expected to lag slightly behind NVIDIA. Nonetheless, the performance gap in ray tracing is not expected to be significant.
Pricing
The pricing of the AMD Radeon 9070 Series remains unknown but will likely compete with the prices of NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti. This pricing competition, along with the need to optimize RDNA 4 architecture, might explain the delay in the launch of AMD’s new models. Nonetheless, it seems that the RDNA 4 generation is gradually gaining ground and could surpass AMD’s original expectations.
In other news, AMD has refuted the rumors claiming that the Radeon RX 9070 XT GPUs would be priced at $900, stating that such a price was “never part of the plan.”
