Ryzen 7 9850X3D Appears in US Stores With $500 Price
Recent leaks from retailers in the United States have revealed the first listings of the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a processor that aims to become the new benchmark for gaming fans. According to recent information, this Zen 5–based chip could arrive with a price close to $500.
Expected Specifications and Features
The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is a direct upgrade to the popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It keeps the same setup of 8 cores and 16 threads, but with higher clock speeds. Leaks suggest a boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz, which is about 400 MHz higher than its predecessor.
As with all X3D processors, the main highlight is the 3D V-Cache. This model is expected to include 96 MB of L3 cache, which helps reduce latency and greatly improves gaming performance. The processor is also said to have a 120W TDP and will be built using the 4nm Zen 5 architecture, focusing on good power efficiency.
Early benchmark data from sources like PassMark indicate that the Ryzen 7 9850X3D could be around 5% faster than the 9800X3D in both single-core and multi-core tasks. The improvement is much larger when compared to the Zen 4 generation, with gains of over 20% versus the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
The processor has been listed at around $511 in stores such as Nebumax. AMD appears to be targeting the high-end gaming market before competitors respond. While early store prices are often higher than the official MSRP, everything suggests that gamers on the AM5 platform will be able to access the latest 3D cache technology at a competitive price.
