Ryzen 7 9850X3D Will Have a TDP of 120W and Its First Benchmark Has Been Leaked
Information and a benchmark of the Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor have been leaked. This chip, part of AMD’s upcoming “Granite Ridge” CPU lineup based on the Zen 5 architecture and 3D V-Cache technology, officially confirms one of its key specifications — a TDP of 120W.
Core Specs and Design
Shipping documents that include the part number (DVTP/N) 100-1000001973-00 confirm the existence of this processor with 8 cores and 16 threads. The most important detail is that the 9850X3D keeps the same 120W power level as its predecessor, the popular Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
According to earlier reports, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will not only retain the massive 96MB of L3 cache that makes the X3D series stand out in gaming performance but will also feature higher clock speeds. It is rumored that the boost clock could reach up to 5.6 GHz, about 400 MHz higher than the 9800X3D.
In the Geekbench listings, the processor was seen running between 4.98 GHz and 5.58 GHz on a Colorful CVN B850M Gaming Frozen 14A motherboard. Another test entry shows it paired with a Maxsun B850 ITX board.
The results show the Ryzen 7 9850X3D performing slightly below the 9800X3D, which could be due to the test memory running at 4800 MHz.
Although AMD has not announced an official release date, the launch is expected early next year.
