Samsung 2026 OLED TVs & Monitors Get Higher Refresh Rates, G-Sync and FreeSync

Excited for this years new TVs? I know I am, but I do love movie, cinema and TV tech! Well, Samsung is kicking things off with a significant update to its displays. In a move that will please PC enthusiasts and gamers everywhere, the South Korean tech giant has confirmed that its latest OLED TV lineup and next-generation Odyssey gaming monitors have officially received NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification.

G-Sync works by synchronising the display’s refresh rate with your graphics card, these displays aim to eliminate the stuttering and screen tearing that can often plague high-end gaming sessions, ensuring a much smoother visual experience overall, while removing the need for latency inducing V-Sync.

Samsung OLED S95H, S90H, and S85H

Samsung’s 2026 television range is leaning heavily into its “gaming first” philosophy. Leading the pack are the S95H and S90H, which now support refresh rates up to 165Hz! A figure that pushes them well into dedicated gaming monitor territory. For those looking at the more entry-level S85H, you’ll still benefit from a respectable 120Hz, which is enough to max out modern consoles.

Beyond the G-SYNC support, Samsung is also catering to Team Red users with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. A new addition for this year is the HDR10+ ADVANCED format, which looks to refine brightness, contrast, and motion accuracy across all content types. Furthermore, the S95H and S90H feature Samsung’s proprietary Glare Free technology, designed to keep reflections at bay without the usual loss in OLED picture quality.

Samsung Odyssey G6 (G60H & G61SH)

The Odyssey monitor sub-brand continues to push boundaries, particularly with the new G60H. This 27-inch unit is making headlines as the first monitor to reach a staggering 1,040Hz refresh rate through its Dual Mode feature. This allows players to toggle between ultra-high frame rates in HD resolution and a native QHD performance at up to 600Hz.

For players who love high performance and great image quality, the 27-inch Odyssey G61SH variant features a QD-OLED panel. While it reaches a 240Hz refresh rate, it offers the superior contrast and 0.03ms GTG response times that have made QD-OLED a favourite for immersive gaming.

  • Odyssey G6 (G60H): Features Dual Mode with up to 1,040Hz refresh rate (HD) or 600Hz (QHD).

What We Think

Samsung is clearly tired of TVs being seen as the secondary gaming screen. By pushing refresh rates on the S95H to 165Hz and securing G-SYNC validation, they are closing the gap between the living room and the desk. The Odyssey G60H, however, is the real technical marvel here. 1,040Hz sounds almost absurd on paper, but for competitive eSports players, that level of motion clarity and low input latency is the new frontier. It is great to see Samsung maintaining features like Glare Free tech, as OLEDs have historically struggled in brighter rooms.

What Samsung Had to Say

“Our goal is simple: deliver a consistently great gaming experience, no matter what you play or where you play it,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With new innovations across OLED TVs and gaming monitors, we’re bringing more power, precision, and immersion to every kind of player.”

Where to Buy

The 2026 Samsung OLED TV lineup and the new Odyssey G6 models are expected to roll out to major UK retailers and the official Samsung webstore in the coming months. Pricing is yet to be finalised for the UK market, but we expect them to occupy their usual premium slots at launch.
