Samsung Unveils First 31.5-Inch QD-OLED Monitor With 4K 360Hz and Dual 680Hz Mode
Samsung has surprised the market by announcing the world’s first 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel that combines native 4K resolution with a 360Hz refresh rate.
This new development removes the need for users to choose between the highest image quality and an extremely high refresh rate for competitive gaming.
In its main mode, the monitor delivers 4K resolution at 360Hz. However, the panel can instantly switch to Full HD (1080p) resolution, increasing the refresh rate to an impressive 680Hz.

The feature puts Samsung in direct competition with LG’s dual-mode WOLED displays, while offering the advantages of QD-OLED technology, which is known for its strong image quality.
Samsung said it optimized the panel’s circuits and developed a new driving system capable of handling the huge amount of data required by both display modes.
In terms of image quality, the panel carries the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. This allows it to deliver true black levels down to 0.0005 nits and peak brightness of at least 600 nits.
The monitor also uses a V-shaped pixel structure, known as V-stripe, which arranges subpixels vertically and helps solve sharpness issues that can appear around text edges.
Samsung will officially showcase the panel during Computex 2026 in Taipei, which will take place from June 2 to June 5.
Mass production is expected to begin during the second half of this year, and the company is already in talks with more than ten global customers interested in adding the technology to their product lineups.
