Samsung’s Series 7 Laptop available for pre-order

As we make our way closer to the future Ultrabooks, Samsung’s latest Series 7 notebook is now available for pre-order.

This 15.6” laptop sports an incredible design featuring an entire aluminium casing, making it weigh only around 5 pounds and powered by Intel’s latest Core i7, ultrabook or not, it’s one hell of a beast.

Only available for pre-order at Best Buy (for now), this specific Series 7 is equipped with an Intel Core i7 2675QM processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 6MB of cache as well as 6GB of DDR3 memory. Graphics will be displayed by an AMD Radeon HD 6490 with 512MB of memory and is also equipped with Intel’s Wireless display. The storage capacity is 750GB, meaning plenty of space for your data.

As for connectivity, you get Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n as well as gigabit Ethernet LAN and Intel 4G WiMAX chipset. You’ll also find a slot-load double-layer DVD burner, two USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and HDMI and VGA outputs.

With a 8-cell lithium battery for up to 9 hours of battery time (according to Samsung), the Series 7 is on pre-order for only $880 at Best Buy, yet strangely enough, the arrival date is estimated for…last week…I think there’s a problem in there somewhere.
