The drive, being honest is one of the best looking we’ve had come through our offices. Now this is just a personal opinion but it really is sleek looking with its black design and stylish curved metal framework. The centre of the drive is taken up by a large sticker with little information on.

The underside of the drive spouts of a bit more information. We find the capacity, what we believe to be the manufacture date, model name and SATA interface used. There are also relevant serial numbers, barcodes and revision numbers, but you will most likely never refer to these.

On the side we find two screws which hold the casing of the drive together, and two mounting screw points. This is the same on the opposite side as well.

Connector wise, we find the standard SATA data connector and SATA power connector in their usual location, offset for ease of compatability with docking platforms.

Opening the SSD up, we find an interesting situation and unique to say the least. At the heart of it, we find a SandForce controller as expected, but memory wise we find eight memory chips, which are branded as SanDisks own.

On the other side of the PCB we find another eight SanDisk asynchronous memory chips.
