SAPPHIRE and Pearl Abyss Unveil Stunning Crimson Desert RX 9070 XT Graphics Card

SAPPHIRE Technology has jointed forced with Pearl Abyss to create an AMD graphics card like no other. Their latest hardware collaboration is the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Crimson Desert Edition. It’s certainly not the first custom GPU design Sapphire has done over the years, and likely won’t be the last either! Of course, this limited-edition card is designed to celebrate the upcoming open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert, moving away from the developer’s MMORPG roots with Black Desert Online.

The card is built upon the AMD RDNA 4 architecture, and it’s basically the fantastic RX 9070 XT you know and love, but it comes decked out with a bespoke aesthetic that mirrors the themes of the game. The most prominent feature is the Quick Connect MagniPlate, a magnetic backplate adorned with iconic Crimson Desert artwork. This is complemented by an ARGB light strip and AeroCurve fans that feature the game’s logo and specialised colour-matched emblems. Obviously, this is a niche market, but I love that they give something that really appeals to a core part of the gaming market; it’s just a bit different, and we need more original designs on the market!

To keep builds looking tidy, SAPPHIRE has utilised its STEALTH Hidden Power Cable system, which helps conceal the external power connectors. Under the shroud, the card uses high-end materials like Honeywell PTM7950 thermal interface material and a 16-phase digital power design. This strong focus on quality and high-performance cooling ensure this card can maintain its higher 3060 MHz boost clock during long gaming sessions.

Key Features and Specifications

The RX 9070 XT Crimson Desert Edition is a powerhouse intended for 4K gaming, which is no surprise to me, given I run an RX 9070 XT and game at 4K myself. This new card features the following, which as I said, it a fairly typical 9070 XT, but with some bigger boost clocks, and a seriously upgraded cooler compared to many of the models on the market right now.

  • GPU Architecture: AMD RDNA 4
  • Stream Processors: 4096
  • Boost Clock: Up to 3060 MHz
  • Game Clock: Up to 2520 MHz
  • Memory: 16GB GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus
  • Memory Speed: Up to 20 Gbps
  • Ray Accelerators: 64
  • Cooling: Tri-X Cooling Technology with three Two-Ball Bearing fans
  • Power Input: 12V-2×6 (H++) connector (includes a 3×8-pin adapter)
  • Form Factor: 3.2 slot design, 330.8mm in length
  • Interface: PCI-Express 5.0 x16

What We Think

SAPPHIRE’s NITRO+ line has long been a favourite for those who want top-tier cooling and build quality, and this Crimson Desert Edition takes that a step further for fans of the game. The use of a magnetic backplate is a clever touch, making it easy to customise or clean. It is also nice to see the inclusion of the newer 12V-2×6 power connector alongside an adapter, ensuring compatibility with both modern and slightly older power supplies. For gamers looking for a card that stands out from the usual black and grey designs, this is a breath of fresh air.

Where to Buy

The SAPPHIRE NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Crimson Desert Edition will be available through selected e-tailers and retailers starting in February 2026. As an added bonus, the GPU will be included in an AMD game bundle offer, so those who purchase the GPU from participating retailers will receive a copy of Crimson Desert too!
