Sapphire Showcases PhantomLink Ecosystem and Pocket-Sized Edge AI Systems @ Computex 2026

Computex 2026: The eTeknix team is here at Computex 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan, bringing you coverage of the latest, greatest, and next-generation of PC hardware, components, gaming tech, and much more! While we’re currently on the show floor taking many pictures and having meetings, we will endeavour to update our live gallery throughout the day, which you can check out here!
Sapphire
We’ve just stopped by the Sapphire booth to wrap up our very first day here on the show floor at Computex 2026. It is fair to say that Sapphire does not have a massive haul of fundamentally new architecture to show off today, but that is entirely expected right now. For brands that are primarily graphics card manufacturers, the current market landscape dictates that it might be a little while before we see a completely new generation of main GPU silicon. However, that has not stopped Sapphire from tightly integrating and improving their overall hardware ecosystem, leaning heavily into design refinement and clever motherboard partnerships to complement their existing graphics cards. Walking onto the Sapphire stand, the first thing that caught our eye was how beautifully their latest motherboard ranges link up with their established GPU families. The brand has synchronised their motherboard aesthetics and features across the premium Sapphire NITRO+, mainstream Sapphire PURE, and budget-friendly Sapphire PULSE series. This makes it incredibly straightforward for builders to create a cohesive look, ensuring the motherboards natively match the performance profiles, design cues, and price tiers of the corresponding NITRO+, PURE, and PULSE graphics cards. For budget-conscious consumers, they are still supporting the more affordable end of the market with a robust display of AM4 and AM5 options, including B550M, A620M, and A520M models.

The real showstopper on the booth, however, is the expansion of their proprietary PhantomLink technology. As we have covered in some of our recent reviews, Sapphire is taking cable management to a completely different level. They have integrated this hidden-connector design onto their latest AM5 flagship motherboards, such as the NITRO+ X870EA PhantomLink Polar Edition. This ingenious system routes the standard PCIe 5.1 and 12V-2×6 power connections through the back of the motherboard, passing power directly to the graphics card via an integrated high-power slot. This eliminates the need for any trailing PCIe cables to the front of the chassis, resulting in an exceptionally clean, lean, and stylish aesthetic. To demonstrate the technology in its peak enthusiast form, Sapphire paired the motherboard with their stunning white Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT OC PhantomLink Polar Edition graphics card, showcasing a completely wireless main chamber that looks absolutely spectacular.

Beyond traditional DIY desktop hardware, Sapphire is making a massive push into edge computing and artificial intelligence, which is a defining theme across the industry in 2026. They are displaying an extensive range of embedded systems and motherboards fitted with built-in processors, memory, and storage, alongside dedicated hardware AI accelerators. These industrial and commercial units are targeting everything from security and automation to digital advertising. The most fascinating innovation in this space is easily the Sapphire Edge AI series. These ultra-compact units are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors, delivering up to 50 AI TOPS of processing power in a chassis that literally fits in the palm of your hand. It is an incredible amount of portable performance, making these tiny edge systems ideal for local AI workloads, mobile workstations, compact office deployments, CAD, and product design work where space is at a premium.
