The first thing that struck me whilst looking at the Mugen 3 was the size of the fan in relation to the heat sink. In fact the heat sink is 158mm tall in total but the bottom inch of the 120mm fan doesn’t actually blow onto the heat sink.

From the side you get more of an idea of what I was talking about when I said the bottom part of the fan doesn’t blow onto the main heat sink. As you can see the main heat sink isn’t that wide but with the fan attached tall RAM modules look like they might be in danger. The Mugen 3 has removable fan clips so you can move the fan to the other side if you want to.

As you can see from the above image there are a lot of heat pipes on the Mugen 3, 6 in total. Each heat pipe goes in a U shape to the to of each side of the Mugen 3 heat sink. This means you get 12 heat pipe caps at the top of the Mugen 3 as shown below. It’s a pretty cool look don’t you think?
