Edit: Scythe U.S. is being restructed resulting in shut down of their office over there, but its taken over by Scythe Taiwan. For more information, refer to the news link.
Its always sad to see a company that is well-known within its Niche/expertise to shut down. Such is the case of a very well known company that specializes in cooling and heatsink busines for a very long time.
Scythe USA has shut down and signs off with a goodbye as a company as a message in their website.
To Customers and Users,
Scythe USA Inc. has been a supplier of Scythe products for the past several years. In November 2012, Scythe USA had to make a difficult decision to end its operations as a result of the closure of its parent company. We greatly appreciate your business and support over the years.
Sincerely,
Masahiro Sakai
CEO
Scythe Co., Ltd. is a company that initially started in Japan where it initially used to sell electric products for computer parts and accessories & Cellphones with video camera and small displays- before they stepped into distribution and manufacturing of DIY PC parts and gaming devices in November, 2002- and were very well known for CPU coolers with names such as “Ninja”, “SHURIKEN”, “Samurai Master” and “Katana”. Sadly, reality is that it wasn’t able to keep up with the competition despite having a lot of praises for a lot of their coolers.
EDIT: “Scythe Japan will still maintain operations and will take care of whatever orders Scythe USA cannot fulfill by their closure date.”
