Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Pro Ultra-Portable Drive USB 3.0 Review

PerformanceOur test is fairly crude using a simple program to test the read and write speeds, and while it gives us fairly good results this test was repeated 3 times to give us a good average.

As you can see the drive through USB 2.0 is similar to memory sticks and any other USB 2.0 devices you might use, this is obviously limited by the interface speed. However, when you plug it in via USB 3.0 I have to admit I was impressed with the results. Over 110 MB/s read/write speeds is in fact faster than a lot of SATA II mechanical drives, meaning it might be faster for you to use this device than the ‘average speed hdd’ which is certainly very impressive for something so portable.
