Seagate Halo Infinite Special Edition Game Drive Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Like many things, the stock seems to be a bit erratic on this one. However, if you are eager to snap up a Seagate Game Drive for Xbox Halo Infinite 2TB you may have to shop around a little. The new drives include three years of Rescue Data Recovery Services and a one-year limited warranty giving you added peace of mind. Game Drive for Xbox – Halo Infinite SE is available in capacities of 2TB (£79.99) and 5TB (£129.99). However, be careful, as some sites are trying to sell it for as much as £115!

Overview

There’s no shortage of storage options on the market today. I dare say, some are actually cheaper than this new one from Seagate, even from Seagate themselves actually, but there are a few premium features on this drive that add up to around a £20 premium over a standard external USB drive.

The obvious one is the Halo branding, that’s a licence that won’t have come for free. Albeit, Seagate has been doing Xbox and Halo branded stuff for some time, and this is just their latest. That being said, I love the design and if I’m going to have an Xbox hard drive, I’d like it to look the part.

The build quality is pretty great too, with that hard-wearing finish that’s unlikely to show scratches and won’t pick up fingerprints. There’s a lovely quality cable included too, with a thick braided and it’s colour matched to the drive. Cheaper drives will have a hard plastic case and a standard cable, and will undoubtedly look drab in comparison.

There’s the LED lighting on the front edge too, a minor detail I’ll admit, but it does look nice. Plus, with a little customisation, it just adds to the overall ambience of the drive and your gaming space.

As far as performance goes, well, it’s a slim 2.5″ mechanical HDD, so it’s a little bit old school. However, using ultra-fast storage for backups is pretty damn expensive and really not needed. If all you want to do is backup those larger installs to make some HDD space for a new title for a few weeks, or keep your older game library in a more portable format, then the game drive is perfect for you. Just go make yourself a cuppa tea if waiting for 100GB+ transfers.
