Wow, just wow, look at that absolutely gorgeous piece of artwork on the front of this thing. It really does grab your attention. I like the fact that the device is white for starters, it matches the aesthetic of the PS5 easily this way.
Most hard drives are designed to be a bit drab, a small grey or black box that’s meant to be less of a distraction and just get on with its job of being a storage device. Not this one though, and the colours of the artwork really do stand out nicely.
I like that they’ve gone for a more air brushed look too, something more stylish than just printing a screenshot or high-res photo of the Aloy. This softens the look of the image, and I really do prefer it.
Although, we’re all in agreement here, does anyone else think Aloy looks like Ygritte from Game of Thrones? Just tell me “You know nothing Peter Donnell” in the comments if I’m talking nonsense (just not every time I talk nonsense, as that’s going to keep you busy).
In the corner, you can see a small PlayStation logo.
In the bottom corner, is a shiny silver Seagate logo. Otherwise, they’ve kept text off of the front of the device, which is nice, let the art talk, not the branding.
On the top edge, you’ll find a USB cable connection, and that’s about it really. You don’t need any external power for this drive, and really it’s just plug-and-play.
Around the back, there’s a nice Seagate S shape pressed into the casing and a small serial number sticker in the corner.
It’s also nice and slim, so it’ll tuck into your pocket, bag or whatever easily enough.
Overall though, it’s very presentable.
