Seagate doubles the size of their Game Drive for the PS4 with a new 4TB version. The new Game Drive has double the capacity of the previous model. That is an impressive capacity which will allow you to install over 100 games. Since an ever-growing game library isn’t limited to Steam users, it’s a welcome addition. PS4 Plus members have the same problem, at least if they want all their games installed at all times.
“As you’ll know, having to delete, install, and reinstall games is the bane of a console gamer’s life, and it’s become worse as file sizes have grown. The Game Drive helps prevent this issue, and is an invaluable addition to any gamer’s setup.”
Seagate’s new 4TB Game Drive is bus-powered and requires no extra power. That makes the setup and use a lot easier. The USB 3.0 connection should be plenty to deliver as good a performance as the internal drive does.
Once connected, the PS4 will detect the drive and walk you through a simple setup. The whole things shouldn’t take more than 3 minutes and the drive is fully PlayStation-approved.
The drive is small enough to take it with you, thus allowing you to take your games and progress with you. Visit friends for a gaming weekend and return with the progress you’ve made. The drive is recognised by any PS4 running System Software 4.50 or higher.
Seagate’s new 4TB Game Drive for PS4 will be available this month with a suggested retail price of just £134.99. In my opinion, that’s quite a bargain. It isn’t a lot more than a game with season pass costs upon release.
