To confirm the boom driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) has announced the global semiconductor sales for the third quarter of this year. Sales increased by nearly 16% compared to the previous quarter, with September 2025 showing a growth of over 25% compared to September 2024.
Strong Growth in the Third Quarter of 2025
The numbers are clear: during the third quarter of 2025, sales grew by 15.8% compared to the second quarter. Semiconductor sales reached $69.5 million in a single month, totaling $208.4 million from July to September. In addition, September sales were 7% higher than those in August.
According to the SIA, which represents 99% of U.S. semiconductor manufacturers and two-thirds of producers worldwide, this growth is largely due to AI-driven demand and memory chip sales used in such technologies.
The Asia-Pacific region led the market with 47.9% of total production, followed by America with 30.6%, and China with 15.0%. Meanwhile, Japan saw a decline, with sales dropping by 10.2%.
The Artificial Intelligence boom has been the key factor behind this rapid increase in demand for semiconductors. The growing use of AI technologies in industries and consumer products has driven the need for faster, more efficient chips, especially in data centers and computing devices.
