Sennheiser has announced the launch of two new additions to its portable audio lineup: the HD 400U and the CX 80U. While these names might sound familiar to fans of the brand, the “U” signifies a modern shift towards universal connectivity. Both models now feature integrated USB-C connectors, making them a perfect fit for the latest smartphones, tablets, and laptops without the need for pesky dongles.

The HD 400U is an over-ear, closed-back headphone designed for those who need a bit of peace and quiet while on the move. It builds on the foundations of the older HD 400S, focusing on a bass-driven sound profile and a foldable design that makes it easy to chuck in a backpack.

If you prefer something lighter or discreet, the CX 80U in-ear monitors offer a balanced sound signature in a tiny form factor. Sennheiser has included three different sizes of ear tips to ensure you get a proper seal, which is vital for blocking out background noise while you’re gaming or working.
