Sharkoon Bulldozer ATX Chassis Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Sharkoon Bulldozer is available from Scan for £49.54 here in the UK, this puts it along side products from Antec, Coolermaster and Aerocool who all have similar specification products for this price. They’re also similar in terms of quality and your buying decision really comes down to which one has the exact specification you require and which design you like the most.

Overview

Sharkoon have a really competitive product here and while it is far from perfect, there is only so much you can expect from a product that costs less than £50 in this category. Build quality isn’t the best around and the panels are at best a little thin, while the plastic components are fairly average too and while this would often put most people off, you’ll be hard pushed to find anything better in this price range and at this specification. I do like that Sharkoon have included some kind of dust filters, many budget models skip these and although the front panel filter is in a really stupid place, I’m glad it is there as I’d rather have an awkward filter to clean than my graphics card and radiators being jammed with dirt.

If you’re planning on a gaming build then this chassis will not offer you much sound dampening, it’s fairly open design will let fan noise escape, but does offer you plenty of space for airflow. So long as your more interested in maximum performance at a minimum cost, then you’ll have no qualms about this.

A few quirks aside, there is a lot to like about the Bulldozer, it comes with a pair of 120mm fans pre-installed, more than enough for most low-mid powered systems, it does have dust filters, it has modular and tool-less hard drive installation, room for long graphics cards, extra fan mounting positions, holds a 120mm radiator in the back, there are cable routing cut-outs and it even has a funky interior paint job that shines through the clear side panel window. In short, you can do a lot worse for under £50.

Being packed with features, good components support, a design that will appeal to the gaming market and a budget friendly price tag are big selling points here and while build quality could be better, you would expect to pay another £20-30 for a chassis like this before things improved in that area.

Pros

  • Cool interior paint job
  • 2 x 120mm LED fans included
  • Modular hard drive bays
  • Cable routing
  • Side panel window
  • Dust filters (if somewhat limited)
  • Price

Cons

  • Thin panels
  • Plastics feel a little cheap (expected in this price range)

“I really like this case, it’s not perfect but it certainly stands out as one of the best in this price range. For those looking to build a low-mid budget gaming rig there is no shortage of choice, but the Bulldozer packs a lot of features and a unique design that help it stand out from the crowd.”
