After their QuickPort, Sharkoon have now released a Pro edition of their QuickDeck product, a docking station allowing external HDD connection in the horizontal position.
As for the previous model, the QuickDeck Pro supports both 3.5” and 2.5” hard drives. All there is to do is insert the drive into the dock and sliding it until connected, a small rail will aid in guiding the smaller drives. To take it out, a simple use of the ejection lever and it detaches from the SATA port.
Featuring a USB 3.0 connection for faster transfer speeds, the QuickDeck Pro includes rubber feet to avoid slipping while the topside has matching grooves to give the possibility of stacking to allow for space saving.
The power is provided by a separate cable, while a power switch and a blue operating LED will give you both control and information. Supporting systems include both 32-bit and 64-bit version of Windows XP, Vista and 7. Dimensions are 180 x 143 x 40mm (LxWxH) and the weight of 240g should not bother much on the desk.
