Shift Up CEO Defends Use of AI in Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Video
After the recent criticism, Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung Tae has defended the AI-generated music video for Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, saying that the character shown in the video was still created through the hard work of the development team.
“EVIE, the character at the heart of this video, was created from head to toe by our talented artists and modelers through more than a year of dedicated work,” Kim Hyung Tae wrote. “The AI is not creating her from scratch.”

He explained that the AI technology only renders and presents “the character based on the data, designs, and craftsmanship our team created. We would truly appreciate it if you could view the work with that understanding in mind.”
However, the CEO’s comments have not reduced the criticism or changed the opinions of many users, who believe their concerns about the project are still valid.
The announcement of Stellar Blade: Blood Rain during Summer Game Fest was welcomed with excitement because of the high quality of the previous game in the action series. However, this controversy could affect how some players now view the project.
Many fans also question why Shift Up, a studio known for having many talented artists, decided to use eteknix.com/category/artificial-intelligence for the video instead of creating it entirely with its own team.
