Silent Hill 1 Remake Officially Announced
Horror games are loved by many, and Silent Hill is one of the most iconic. Konami knows this well and is working hard to bring the series back into the spotlight. They are doing this through a mix of indie titles, new chapters, and remakes of older games. Yes, that’s right—more than one remake is coming. After the remake of Silent Hill 2, a remake of the very first Silent Hill is now officially on its way.
The remake has been confirmed by Konami and Bloober Team.
Teaser Released, but No Details Yet
The announcement came with the music from the original Silent Hill game, which leaves no doubt that this is a return to the classic. A short teaser was shown, but no other details were revealed. What we do know is that the game is currently in development.
Bloober Team, the studio behind the well-received Silent Hill 2 Remake, is once again leading this project. Some may find it odd that they started with the second game before the first, but it made sense: Silent Hill 2 was seen as a safer bet, being the most famous and loved title in the series. Now, with that success, Konami seems more confident.
Konami’s Trust in Bloober Team Grows
It looks like Konami not only believes in remakes for the Silent Hill series, but also trusts Bloober Team, who have proven their skills in horror games over the years. The studio is also preparing to launch a brand-new original title called Cronos: The New Dawn.
We can assume that the remake of the first Silent Hill will take a few years to complete. Right now, it’s not clear what approach Bloober Team will take for this version. For now, Konami is asking fans to stay tuned for more official updates.
