Silent Hill 2 Remake Launches on Xbox Without Notice, Available at Half Price
Everything suggested that Konami and Bloober Team would announce the Xbox Series version of Silent Hill 2 Remake during today’s Xbox Partner Preview. However, the event ended without the horror title making an appearance. Despite the lack of any official reveal, Silent Hill 2 Remake has been released unexpectedly on the Xbox Store.
Surprise Release on the Australian Xbox Store
Specifically, Silent Hill 2 Remake appeared without notice on the Australian Xbox Store. At the time of writing, there has been no official statement from Konami, Xbox, or Bloober Team. Nevertheless, the game is available for purchase in Australia, where it’s heavily discounted, dropping from 99.94 AUD to 49.97 AUD — about 31 usd.
The fact that Silent Hill 2 Remake is already available for Xbox Series X/S in Australia clearly indicates that a global release on Microsoft consoles is imminent. This surprise launch might not be so surprising for fans, as rumors and leaks about its Xbox debut have circulated for months.
It’s worth remembering that Silent Hill 2 Remake first launched on PS5 and PC back in October 2024, over a year ago.
In other news, Bloober Team has officially confirmed that a remake of the original Silent Hill (1999) has entered full production.
