A Closer Look

Out of the box, the SilentiumPC Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is certainly a bit of a chunky creature and with that distinctive V-shape to the radiator, it has a fair bit going for it in terms of the initial impressions. At this point though, the initial impressions are only one aspect. Let’s take a closer look at some of the individual components that make up this air cooler design.

Contact Plate

The contact plate provides you with a nice, large, and smooth surface that, all going well, should translate into some excellent thermal contact and heat dissipation to the radiator.

Coming with 5 heat pipes, this is certainly a number that is indicative of a ‘high-performance’ design and while we’re not necessarily attributing that title to this cooler yet, it does appear that SilentiumPC has, as seen often with their Fortis 3 range, put more emphasis on temperature control with this design.

Radiator

Remember what we said about those initial impressions? Well, a closer look at the radiator certainly reinforces that with it’s rather bulky size and very sleek black contracting against the silver edged fins.

Without a doubt, one of the most eye-catching aspects is that V-shape to the radiator and it’s certainly unclear as to whether this was an aesthetic choice or something that should promote some good airflow and, by proxy, temperature control.

With small but substantial SilentiumPC branding to the top and bottom, however, while it’s certainly eye-catching. It’s not gaudy and actually looks very sleek and professional. All going well, this will be reflected in the performance.

Fan

Rather unusually, when compared to most air coolers that usually come with 120mm fans, the model provided with the SilentiumPC Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is a single 140mm design. With it’s slightly transparent white design, this should, all going well, really allow for that ARGB lighting to pop!

A closer look reveals this to be a SilentiumPC own ‘Pulsar’ fan. A design we have encountered many times in the past and one that we’ve never failed to be impressed with it’s impressively quiet acoustic performance. Admittedly, we’ve never seen this fan in a 140mm design before (at least not to my memory), but overall the inclusion of this is more than a little encouraging.

In terms of coverage, the fan is slightly larger than the radiator which should, all going well, translate into some good airflow and general ‘movement’ through the radiators fins.

Overall

As a complete package, the SilentiumPC Fortis EVO ARGB looks truly excellent and while we don’t expect this to necessarily be a top-of-the-line cooler in terms of it’s performance (largely down to the price this retails for) it certainly looks like the part!

With or without the ARGB lighting, it’s hard to deny that the aesthetics from the this cooler are more than a little attractive. While visuals are, of course, always a subjective matter, we don’t think that this would look unattractive in any PC system.

SilentiumPC Fortis 3 EVO ARGB

So, in terms of the design, the SilentiumPC Fortis 3 EVO ARGB certainly looks more than a little impressive and, dare we say, a little potent. How is to live with though? Well, there’s only one way to find out. Let’s get this cooler fitted!
