SilverStone has been busy expanding its cooling portfolio for Computex 2012. It has two brand new CPU coolers lined up for release.
SST-NT01 Pro
Using an unconventionally shaped aluminium heat sink design with two 80mm fans this CPU cooler certainly qualifies as having a unique design. The heatsink “stack” is off-set to the side of the direct touch base, the six 6mm heat pipes feed the heat flow into the off-set heat sink where the two 80mm fans push the heat away. Both fans are 4 pin PWM controlled and you can also put 70mm fans on it instead of your system requires that.
SST-NT08
Featuring a dual tower heatsink design, which is almost becoming the norm with CPU coolers, this cooler at first glance looks “normal”. Closer observation though reveals an Asymmetric design, whereby the left side is a lot thinner than the right. The logic behind this is that the side with the thinner heatsink array has the intake and the thicker array has the exhaust. By this logic intake of air is better and out-take of heat is better than a standard Symmetric design. The thicker side is almost twice as thick as the thinner side. Six 6mm heat pipes pass through both of the towers and the base. A single 120mm fan is deployed in the central space between the two towers.
