The SilverStone SST-EBA01 Headphone Stand is a little expensive at £39.95 + shipping from Overclockers.co.uk, but a quick Google will show you that it’s really only £5-10 more than most competitors offerings. The added bonus is that the SilverStone offering has some of the best build quality; so you are getting what you pay for thanks to its thick aluminium construction.

Overview

This is an expensive accessory for your desktop, but I personally have two headsets on my desk at anyone time, which often cost £100+ and on occasion, and they cost a lot more than that. With that in mind, paying £40 for a high quality stand that will help keep them safe and scratch free is a relatively small investment.

It’s also worth looking back at the SilverStone SST-EB03 headphone amp and the SST0EB01 DAC, which are enthusiast grade products, priced at £169.99 and 166.99 respectively. The headphone stand is perfectly fine to use on its own, but for owners of either of their other audio products, this is a great way to complete the set with a matching stand. For those who don’t own the other two units, you will be looking at an investment of around £400 (including shipping) for the complete set.

Build quality is exceptional, although I wouldn’t have expected anything less from SilverStone. The thick aluminium is very heavy and I fear the day I drop this thing on my foot; it’ll certainly result in a trip to a hospital. The powdered texture looks great too, giving a soft matte look to the stand that will blend in nicely with a wide range of desktop styles.

While I can’t say that the SST-EBA01 is the best out there right now, I can say it is of a very high quality.
