Silverstone SETA D1 Case Review

Hardware Support

The SETA D1 is very interesting when it comes to hardware support, as it has a surprising number of configurations. For example, there’s a few cooling configurations to play around with. There’s a 120mm fan in the rear, simple enough…

There are two more in the front, however, you can get up to three, or a 360mm radiator in the front with the HDD cages removed.

There’s an included bracket that allows you to turn the top fan mounts into a 360mm radiator mount also.

There’s room for up to an E-ATX motherboard in here, and even SSI-EEB motherboards, so those workstation dual-socket solutions are possible here.

But it’s when we get to the overall storage configurations that things get really crazy. There’s a plethora of suspended drive trays pre-installed, offering up either 2.5″ or 3.5″ drive support.

There are two 2.5″ drive mounts behind the motherboard.

Then another drive cage below the PSU shroud.

This can be remove via a single thumbscrew, allowing you to easily install the drives then put it back. However, you can leave it out, giving you more cable storage space for larger PSUs.

Then there’s all the extra stuff, allowing you to add even more drive trays, convert the front HDD space in to 4 x 5.25″ bays, and more.

It’s setup for 2 x 5.25″ now, but you can have none, and more HDD space, or 4 x 5.25″ and so on.

In fact, it’s got so many configurations, that the only sensible way to demonstrate them is with Silverstones own video! It’s only a minute long, but well worth checking out.
