Silverstone SST-EB03 Amp & SST-EB01-E DAC Review

A Closer Look – EB03

The EB03 is a great looking device, cut from gorgeous brushed aluminium it certainly has presence, with lots of sweeping curves that certainly give it a premium quality appearance. Tucked away in an overlapping section on the front you’ll find a single gold-plated 6.3mm stereo headphone-out jack and a small LED light for the power on / off indicator.

The left front side is the same piece of aluminium as the front panel, which curves around the corner of the unit.

That same side panel also curves around the back a little, which helps provide a clean look from the front and side angles.

The I/O panel around the back is simple enough, with RCA jacks for the line-in and RCA for the line-out pass through.

The top panel is also made of gorgeously finished aluminium, with just a subtle Silverstone logo at the back and that large volume dial on the top. The dial is really nice and turns smoothly, allowing for accurate changes in volume output. It’s quite light and hollow feeling when it looks like it’s going to feel heavier to turn.

On the underside you’ll find even more aluminium and four large feet that provide a firm base for the unit thanks to their grippy rubber coating.

  1. Nice, although my ears will appreciate the superior sound quality and my eyes the stunning looks, the price tags made them burn and water. It must be my allergies playing up again. ;)

    1. Unfortunately I have no idea, perhaps you’ll have some luck on some of the reddit subs such as /r/audiophiles or even better, I’m sure AVForums.com will have a good answer for you.
