This is where the SUGO SG11 shows us how competitive Silverstone can be, as the SG11 is priced at just a little over £50 from most major retailers. Available from Scan in the UK for £51.73 + shipping, although it is priced higher in the US, with the current best price being Amazon at $150, although this appears to be due to limited availability in the US.

Overview

Silverstone have done it again, another compact chassis that absolutely dominates the market in terms of hardware compatibility. It’s not perfect, but it ticks so many boxes that it is easy to brush over any minor issues that I may have encountered.

First up, let’s get the tricky stuff out-of-the-way. There’s nothing to really hate about this chassis, but I can see a few minor areas for improvement. The pale colour on the steel on the interior and rear of the chassis looks cheap, especially if you can see if through the vents and an all black paint job would have really taken it to the next level. The interior fittings, especially the 80mm GPU fan mounts, are a little sharp and while I didn’t cut myself, a little care is certainly advised. Finally, the power and reset buttons look cheap, a minor flaw, but they buttons do their job so it’s not the end of the world. Now, which I would love a new paint job, refined fittings on the interior and new power buttons, I’m not a fool, as these things would increase the price a lot and add very little to the overall product.

As I was saying, the SG11 ticks a lot of boxes, certainly more so that virtually any other chassis in this class. We’ve got a full 5.25″ drive bay, three 3.5″ drive bays, two 2.5″ drive mounts in the top and an impressive seven 2.5″ drive mounts beyond that; you’re not going to be hungry for extra storage mounts here! Add to this the fact that there is room for long graphics cards, dependant on your use of the side 2.5″ drive mounts of course, room for a full ATX power supply, a micro-ATX motherboard, a good quality CPU cooler, a pre-installed 120mm side fan, extensive cooling and ventilation options and more, the SG11 is a versatile piece of kit!

You could easily use this chassis for a reasonably portable, high-end gaming system. It would look great in the office, for a power efficient and quiet system build, it’ll also house mass amounts of storage and a few expansion cards for those wanting a networking/NAS/rendering system; so pretty much any kind of computer you could need.
