SilverStone Tundra Series TD02-E 240mm AIO Water Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

SilverStone continue to knock it out of the park with the TD02-E, which will set you back a wallet friendly £75.80 + shipping from Scan.co.uk. Doesn’t sound cheap to you? It’s cheaper than the best 240mm coolers from Cooler Master, Corsair, Fractal, Thermaltake… sound like a tempting deal now?

Overview

I love what SilverStone have done here, so often we see one Asetek cooler after the other, and while that’s no bad thing, Asetek make some amazing coolers, that’s why so many brands use their tech! SilverStone design their own and the end result really shows. The TD02-E, while not having the catchiest name ever (what SilverStone product does?), stands out in terms of design, build quality and performance from start to finish.

The build quality is rock solid, especially so in the pump housing/cooling block. That screwless base looks great, the aluminum retention brackets are some of the strongest and easiest to work with I’ve seen, the water pipes are thick and stong, but still manageable when installing the cooler. The last thing that really stands out has to be the radiator, it’s incredibly stong and the fin stack alone feels like it could withstand a bullet. The heavy-duty design no doubt lends a hand to its spectacular cooling performance and those high airflow fans play a large part in that equation too.

This is simply one of the best made, best performing and best designed AIO water coolers ever made, it’s as simple as that. In terms of performance, it goes toe to toe with the Enermax Liqtech when overclocked, but I think SilverStone have the edge in terms of build quality.

Pros

  • Exceptional cooling performance
  • Class leading build quality
  • Premium design
  • Extremely easy to install
  • Very competitive price

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • Fans are a little loud on stock settings, but there’s enough performance headroom on offer that you could comfortably dial them back a little

“The SilverStone Tundra TD02-E decimates the competition. It’s got the best build quality, some of the best performance, a flawless design and best of all, it beats all its main rivals in terms of price. If your next 240mm AIO water cooler isn’t the TD02-E, you must be crazy!”
